Releases fail on the boring steps

Most Android release pain is not Kotlin. It is version codes, signing keys, store listings, and a permission declaration you forgot to justify.

Pre-flight checklist

  • Version code incremented; version name meaningful to humans
  • Release signing config verified (not debug)
  • ProGuard/R8 mapping archived for crash symbolication
  • Target SDK requirements reviewed for the current Play policy
  • Runtime permissions and data safety form still accurate
  • Changelog written in plain language

Staged rollout is your friend

Ship to 5–10% first when the change touches auth, payments, or offline sync. Watch crash-free sessions before full rollout.

After you press release

Monitor crashlytics, ANRs, and API error rates for 48 hours. Have a hotfix branch policy before you need it.

Rayaxis ships Android apps for clients who need a steady release rhythm — checklists beat heroics.
